Applications in the prescribed forms are invited from the candidates who are permanent resident of Meghalaya for admission in Two Years Post Diploma Course in Information Technology at Shillong Polytechnic, Shillong for the session 2008-09

Eligibility: The candidates must have passed Diploma in any branch of Engineering or a Bachelor Degree with Maths as one the subjects.

Age Limit: - The candidates should not be more than 25 years of age, three years relaxable for candidates belonging to SC/ST

Application forms can be obtained from the Office of the Principal, Shillong Polytechnic, Shillong from 15th September 2008 onwards. The cost of Prospectus alongwith application form is Rs. 50/- (Rupees fifty) only to be paid by Crossed I.P.O. drawn in favour of the Principal Shillong Polytechnic, Shillong. Application forms duly completed in all respect should be submitted to the office of the Principal, Shillong Polytechnic, Shillong. The last date for submission of completed application is 30th September 2008

ADVERTISEMENT

Applications in standard Forms are hereby invited from male persons who are permanent residents of Meghalaya for undergoing a 2 (two) year Training Course for the year 2008-2009-2010 in Basic Agricultural Training Centre, Upper Shillong. The selected candidates will be given free Hostel accommodation and stipend of Rs.600/- per month.

The Course will commence from 1st October 2008.

The Applicants must fulfill the following conditions

  1. Passed HSLC or its equivalent examination (with documentary proof).
  2. The maximum age limit is 27 years of age as on 1st. Jan. 2008 (with documentary proof).

The Applications must also be accompanied with

  1. SC / ST / OBC and PRC certificate as applicable.
  2. Certificate of arable land ownership or having leased land and dependency on Agricultural activities so that after completion of the Training Course, the candidate can start his own cultivation/Agri- business.
  3. Character Certificate from competent authority.
  4. Physical fitness certificate from DMHO. (District Medical & Health Officer)
  5. 2 (two) passport sized photographs duly attested by any Gazetted Officer.

Last date for submission of Application is on 17th September 2008 upto 5 p.m. and should be addressed to the Principal, Basic Agricultural Training Centre Upper Shillong.

RESERVATION : As per State Government Reservation Policy.

SELECTION will be : (a) Strictly based on Merit. (b) Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

ON SELECTION : (a) Selected Candidates are to produce original copies of testimonials/Certificates at the time of admission.

(b) The candidates will have to execute a bond to the effect that the Stipend drawn by the Trainees should be refunded in full in the event of discontinuation of the training.

(c) The candidate should sign the undertaking that the Government does not guarantee for any Job / appointment after successful completion of the training.

1. Applications are invited from educated un-employed youths, belonging to Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe community and who are permanent resident of the Stale of Meghalaya for grant of financial assistance for running transport services as a mean of self employment. The financial assistance will be granted for the purchase of the following category of vehicles namely - All India Tourist Taxi / All India Maxi Taxi / AH Meghalaya Tourist Taxi / All Meghalaya Maxi Taxi.

2. The extent of financial assistance that may be granted shall be limited to an amount not exceeding twenty five percent (25%) of the total cost of the vehicle. The remaining balance of the cost of the vehicle including the other costs and expenditure shall wholly be borne by the beneficiary from and out of his own resources or by availing loan from the bank / financial institution specially authorized for this purpose.

3. The financial assistance will be admissible to un-employed youths who: -

  1. Are citizen of India.
  2. Belonging to Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe community of the State of Meghalaya and are its permanent residents.
  3. Are not less than 21 years and not more than 35 years of age as on 01.01.2008.
  4. Are not employed in any Government Service whether State or Central or any Public Sector Corporations or Under-taking,
  5. Possess valid professional License to drive the particular category of vehicle for which financial assistance is applied for and who undertake to drive the vehicle by themselves.
  6. (1) Whose income is self employed or the income of parents in un-employed shall not exceed Us.1,50,000/- per annum to be certified by the Deputy Commissioner of the District concerned, provided that preference will be given to educated un-employed youths who have passed H.S.L.C. and above with first preference lo those who are graduate.

4. Any person who fulfills the conditions prescribed at Para 3 above may submit his application duly affixed with court fee stamp of Rs.25/- (twenty five) in form obtainable from the office of the Commissioner of Transport, District Transport Officer(s) in their respective districts duly accompanied with line following certificate / documents, namely: -

  1. Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the district concerned.
  2. Age certified issued by the School in which the applicant last attend
  3. Degree Certificate issued by the University/ College concerned.
  4. Affidavit to the effect that the applicant is not employed in any Government service whether State or Central or under any Public Sector Company or Corporations or Under-taking.
  5. Income certificate from the Deputy Commissioner / Additional Deputy Commissioner/ Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) concerned.
  6. A Medical fitness certificate from the District Medical and Health Officer of the respective districts in which the applicant resides.
  7. The application should reach the Commissioner of Transport, Meghalaya, Sawlad, 'Law-U-Sib' Shillong - 793021 on or before the 05.09.2008.

5. Any application without court fee stamp or which is incomplete or which is not accompanied with attested copies of certificates / documents specified at Para 4 of the advertisement shall be rejected outright.
