DISTRICT TASK FORCE FOR URBAN IMMUNIZATION FORMED

The District Administration, West Garo Hills, Tura has informed that the District Task Force for Urban Immunization has been formed on May, 2017 last and the Urban Health Mission under National Health Mission has been launched in Tura and functioning since 2014. It may be mentioned that the aim of the programme is to reach the outreach population of Tura so as to cater all available health services to the needy people. The success of any programme lies on a dedicated service by the service providers and active community participation. Health service basically meant for Community and Urban Health Mission, Tura is ready to deliver all available services to the community. Antenatal care, Post natal care, Immunisation against killer diseases, curative service, awareness camps etc. are being done in all Urban Health Centres located in Dobasipara, Sampalgre and Matchakolgre. Besides these, outreach camps, immunisation sessions, Urban Health and Nutrition Days (UHNDs) are also being organised in different localities of Tura regularly. It is to be mentioned that due vaccines against killer disease must be given to the infants in due time as per National Immunisation Schedule. It is also to be ensured that all pregnant mothers receive full ANC before child birth and institutional delivery so as to avoid any unwanted incidents. Therefore, in view of these the District Administration and District Health, Tura has appealed all citizens to avail the required services free of cost and ensure good health for themselves as well as for future generations.
