NONGHYLLAM POLICE STATION INAUGURATED

Shri H.D.R Lyngdoh, Home Minister of Meghalaya unveiled the plaque to mark the inauguration of the Nonghyllam Police Station which was earlier an Anti Dacoity Camp in the presence of Shri M.M.Danggo, Minister for PWD (Roads) etc, Shri M. Nongrem, local MDC, Smti R Lyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District, Dr. S.B. Singh, Director General of Police, Meghalaya, Shri A.R Mawthoh, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Eastern Range) and other high dignitaries on 14th August, 2017. In his inaugural speech, Shri Lyngdoh informed that this was the third Police Station in the District and the 57 Police Station in the state. Lauding the effort of the local representative under whose leadership the Police Station was inaugurated today, Shri Lyngdoh reiterated that the government is responsive and accommodative to the demand of the local people and the fulfillment of their dreams and aspirations. “Had it not been of the hard endeavour of the Government, the creation of this police station would have been impossible" added Shri Lyngdoh. While congratulating and appreciating police personnel for the prompt action taken by them in freeing 2 persons who have been recently abducted by criminals, Shri Lyngdoh said, "The Police deserved an applause ". Shri Lyngdoh called upon the people to work in tandem with the police in order to eradicate all criminal activities so as to bring about peace and harmony which is the only way to progress and development and urged the people to report immediately to the police if they see or hear any suspected person with criminal intent. Others who spoke on the occasion were Shri M.M.Danggo, Minister for PWD(Roads)etc, Dr. S.B.Singh, DGP, Shri A.R.Mawthoh, DIG, Shri M.Nongrem, MDC, Shri N Syiemiong, Syiem Hima Langrin. Earlier H.G Lyngdoh,Superintendent of Police South West Khasi Hills District Mawkyrwat delivered the welcome address while Shri R.Pde, Additional Superintendent of Police, South West Khasi Hills District Mawkyrwat offered the vote of thanks.
