NOTIFICATION

Shillong, October 19, 2010: The Commissioner of Taxes, Meghalaya, Shillong, has informed that for the purpose of ensuing proper realization of Tax under Sub-Section 3(A) of Section 7 of the Central Sales Tax Act 1956 (Act No. 74 of 1956), all limestone dealers in Meghalaya to whom the Certificate of Registration has been granted under the Act and the Rules framed shall deposit such amount of Security Deposit and shall be demanded by the prescribed Registering Authority at the rate shown below for every truck load of limestone/lime being transported through the Taxation Checkgates in Meghalaya in the course of inter-state trade or commerce.

For raw limestone, the security deposit is Rs. 350/- per truck load of 9 MT or Rs. 39/- per MT, for powdered lime the security deposit is Rs. 450/- per truck load of 9 MT or Rs. 50/- per MT and for refined or eatable lime, the security deposit is Rs. 600/- per truck load of 9 MT or Rs. 67/- per MT.
