Press Release No. 109/10 MEGHALAYA ICON 2010-AN ICON FOR HIV AND AIDS AWARENESS Shillong, March 24, 2010: With an aim to spread HIV and AIDS awareness among the people and motivate talented youth of the State, the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS), Shillong will be organizing the 1st Meghalaya Icon produced by Springboard Surprises starting from the 25th March up to 27th March, 2010. The event has been envisioned as a movement for mass awareness on the issue of HIV and AIDS amongst the youth and the general populace of the State using music as a tool to highlight their serious issue, while at the same time offering talented musical groups of the State a much needed platform for artistic expression. The Preliminary Round i.e from the 25th to 26th of March will be held at Talents Club, Shillong whereas, the grand finale will be held on the 27th March, 2010 at Laban Sports Club Ground, Shillong. Entry to the 1st Meghalaya Icon is free and the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society has appeal to all citizens of the State to come out and witness the crowning of the 1st Meghalaya Icon. |
