IAF TO CONDUCT ANNUAL EXERCISE

The Air Vice Marshal Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration for Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief has informed that the Air Force Station Laitkor Peak, Shillong will be conducting its annual exercise from July 31, 2006 to August 02, 2006. In view of the above exercise, the entire area of Air Force Station will be placed out of bounds and public are requested not to visit Shillong View Point during the mentioned period.

PRICE OF ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES

The Additional Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that the following are the wholesale price (in quintals/bag/tin) and the retail price (in kg/litre) of essential commodities.

The wholesale price of Rice is Rs. 1040/1140 (Common), Rs. 1020/1180 (Fine) and Rs. 1200/1600 (Packet Parimal) while the retail price per kg is Rs. 12.00 (Common), Rs. 11.00/Rs.12.00 (Fine) and Rs. 13.00/Rs. 17.00 (Packet Parimal). The wholesale price of Atta is Rs. 1020/1040 and Maida is Rs. 1200/1210 and the retail price per kg of Atta is Rs. 12.00/Rs 13.00 and Maida is Rs. 14.50/Rs. 15.00. While the wholesale price of Gramdal is Rs. 2900/Rs. 3100, the retail price per kg is Rs. 31.00/34.00 per kg. For Turdal, the wholesale price is Rs. 2900/3100 (Ahar), Rs. 2350/Rs. 3000 (Masur) and Rs. 4000/4800 (Moong), and the retail price per kg is Rs. 32.00/Rs. 34.00 (Arhar), Rs. 26.00/Rs. 32.00 (Masur) and Rs. 44.00/Rs. 54.00 (Moong). The wholesale price of sugar is Rs. 2040/Rs. 2100 per quintal, the retail price is Rs. 22.00/Rs. 23.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Mustard Oil is Rs. 660/Rs. 690 per tin, the retail price is Rs. 58.00/Rs 72.00 per kg. The wholesale price of Vanaspati oil is Rs. 700/Rs. 800 per tin, the retail price is Rs. 54.00/Rs. 60.00 per kg. The wholesale price of tea is Rs. 100/Rs. 150 (loose) and Rs. 130/Rs. 170 (packet), the retail price is Rs. 120.00/170.00 (loose) and Rs. 152.00/Rs. 190.00 (packed) per kg. The wholesale price of potato is Rs. 450/Rs. 850 per bag, the retail price is Rs. 07.00/Rs. 11.00 per kg. The wholesale price of onion is Rs. 600/Rs. 950 per bag, the retail price is Rs. 08.00/Rs. 13.00 per kg. The wholesale price of salt is Rs. 150/Rs. 190 (loose) and Rs. 160/Rs. 380 (packet), the retail price is Rs. 04.00.Rs. 05.00 per kg (loose) and Rs. 07.00/Rs. 08.00 (packet). The wholesale price of Gur is Rs. 1200/Rs. 1800, the retail price is Rs. 18.00/Rs 26.00 per kg and while the wholesale price of milk (Toned milk) is Rs. 26.50 per litre, the retail price is Rs. 28.00 per litre.
