CONTAINMENT ORDERS

Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of the health of the general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 25th September, 2020 has declared the House of Tender Singh Sohshiang at Jaiaw Umpohliew, Residence of Albert Marbaniang at Khliehshnong, Malki, Quarter of Dr. (Mrs) Anjali D. Sangma, Rilbong, GAD Quarter No.2, Near Sankerdev Women’s Hostel and Building of Dr. (Mrs) Tinnu S Momin, Rilbong, Near Meghalaya Assembly as Micro-Containment Areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the sites.

The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within these areas shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes. Respective Incident Commanders of the above mentioned areas shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
