CLUSTER MEETING CUM PUBLIC HEARING HELD AT TYRNA

Shillong, April 28, 2010: With a view to create transparency and accountability in the implementation of various schemes under Sohra Sub-Division, the office of the Sub-Divisional officer (c) Sohra and Block Development Officer, Shela-Bholaganj in collaboration with MRDS-LIFCOM, East Khasi Hills organized a Cluster Meeting cum Public Hearing at Tyrna Community Hall on April 27, 2010. Smt V R Syiem, Project Director and Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills was the Chief Guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Smti Syiem said that such a meeting would serve as a platform for public opinion wherein public could have a close interaction with the sub-divisional heads of various department on the implementation of schemes and other developmental programmes. It is through such kinds of meeting that people could air their grievances and get their problems redressed. She therefore called upon the people to come forward and to cooperate with the government for better development in the future

The meeting was followed by an interaction between the public and the developmental departments where different department heads answered to queries put forth by the members of the pubic.

Amongst others who spoke on the occasion were Mr R. Dkhar, MDC, Mrs. D Ingty, Project Director, MRDS and Mr. J S Nongkhlaw, Project Director DRDA, East Khasi Hills

Earlier,Mr J. D. Suchiang, EAC, Sohra Sub Division delivered the welcome address while Mr. F Kharmujai, BDO Shella Bholaganj proposed the vote of thanks

NOTIFICATION

Shillong, April 28, 2010: The Government of Meghalaya has constituted a State Crisis Management Committee (SCMC) consisting the Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya as Chairman, Principal Secretary and Commissioner & Secretary, IT, Principal Secretary and Commissioner & Secretary, Home (Police), Senior Informatics Officers, NIC Meghalaya as the members of the committee. The functions of the committee is to be a decision making body that will deal with and provide guidance on any crisis that arises of an IT nature (i.e focused Cyber Attacks) that contains serious or state level ramifications for the State of Meghalaya, to oversea the creation of a contingency plan through IT Department to deal with any crisis arising out of any Cyber Attack and the IT department will service the Committee. The Committee will be free to co-opt members from other Departments, depending on the nature of the crisis as and when required.
