ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 CRPC

The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division, Sohra has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting movement of vehicle carrying load more than 6 (six) tons plying over Wahjapuh Bridge at Ichamati Bholaganj road. The order has been passed in view of the information received related to distressed condition of Wahjapuh Bridge and clearly states that the bridge has been in a dilapidated condition due to sagging by about 35 cm on the upstream side and hence it is not safe for crossing of heavy vehicles considering the present condition of the bridge. This order shall come into force with immediate effect until further orders.

ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 CRPC

The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division, Sohra has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting sale as well as use of Pakka thread, Nylon Manjha and Chinese Manja made of synthetic materials, particularly in relation to kite flying. The Order is necessitated to comply with the Order passed by the National Green Tribunal regarding manjha particularly synthetic, glass coated and Chinese Manjha which are injurious to human beings, birds and equally disadvantageous to the environment. Moreover, the Forest and Environment Department, Government of Meghalaya has issued directions/ guidelines on the prohibition of procuring, stocking, sale and use of nylon thread which is also called Chinese manjha and other synthetic thread coated with glass and such other harmful substances for kite flying. This Order comes into force with immediate effect until further orders.

SLPGC SUBMITS REPORT TO CHIEF MINISTER

Chairman, State Level Public Grievances Committee (SLPGC), K C Momin, and members met and submitted its second report for the period from October 2014 to September 2016 to Chief Minister, Dr Mukul M Sangma here today. In the course of detailed deliberation between the Chief Minister and the Committee Members the various recommendations made by the Committee were dealt into detail. The meeting also recommended that public grievances need to be addressed right from the grass root level and therefore a Complaint Box should be immediately initiated at the Block Level where grievances can be addressed. While appreciating the efforts of the Committee and talking much concern on its recommendations the Chief Minister further impressed that the SLPGC could play a more active role through sensitization programmes for the public in general thorough the various Administrative set up at the District and Block Level and also through the State Government Portal on various issues. In the meantime the Committee also resolve and endeavour to take up issues of public grievances by meetings to be held at various levels so that the time bound delivery system on various issues could be dealt with effectively.
