OBSERVANCE OF SWASTH BALAK BALIKA SPARDHA- HEALTHY CHILD CAMPAIGN PROGRAMME

It is being informed that in line with the State motto 'to improve the Nutritional Indicators of the State' and as decided by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India, the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Meghalaya will be organizing the Swasth Balak Balika Spardha (SBBS)/ Healthy Child Campaign Programme in a campaign mode from the 21st – 27th March, 2022 in collaboration with the Health & Family Welfare Department, C&RD and the Education Department.

In this collaborative campaign concerted effort will be made to mobilize all the parents and care-givers of children from 0 — 6 years to measure the weight and height of children across the State during this week at respective Anganwadi Centres, schools and other places identified by the District Administration.

This campaign will be led by the concerned District Teams headed by the Deputy Commissioners who will plan and organize this event in their respective districts. All parents and other concerned community members are requested to participate in this mobilization exercise to generate awareness and community action towards improving the nutritional status of children of our State. The parents and the Guardians can also register through the Poshan tracker website which is poshantracker.in. The office of the respective Deputy Commissioners and the District Programme Officers of the ICDS and the office of the Child Development Project Officers may be contacted for further assistance in participating.
