FAKE INDIAN CURRENCY NOTES

Shillong, October 4, 2012: Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department has notified Police Stations in each District as the nodal Police Stations, where matters relating to Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICNs) recovered by banks can be reported.

SPECIAL CAMPAIGN DATES FOR ENROLLMENT OF VOTERS IN EAST KHASI HILLS

Shillong, October 4, 2012: The Deputy Commissioner (Election), East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Special Campaign dates for enrollment of voters in connection with the ensuing Special Summary Revision with reference to 1.1.2013 as the qualifying date will be held on 6th, 13th and 20th October, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

For 13-Mawryngkneng (ST), the special campaign will be held at Mawryngkneng HSS on 6.10.2012, ME School, Diengpasoh on 13.10.2012 and Green Hills SS, Sohryngkham Lulong on 20.10.2012. For 14-Pynthorumkhrah (GEN) the campaign will be held on 6.10.2012 at Valley View School, Pynthorbah. For 15-Mawlai (ST), the campaign will be held at Sacred Heart Girls’ HSS on 13.10.2012 and at Polytechnic and NEHU on 20.10.2012.

For 16-East Shillong (ST), the campaign will be held on 6.10.2012 at St. Anthony’s College, St. Mary’s College, St. Margaret, Women’s College, Little Flower SS, Malki, B K Bajoria HS School and on 13.10.2012 at Pine Mount HSS, Bisau College, Seven Set (Annex) HSS, Laitumkhrah Presbyterian HSS, PGT College, St. Anthony’s HSS. For 17-North Shillong (ST), the campaign will be held at Community Hall, Lawmali Pyllun on 6.10.2012, St. Joseph’s Girls HSS on 13.10.2012 at Khasi National Dorbar Hall on 20.10.2012. For 18-West Shillong (GEN), the campaign will be held at Gorkha Pathshala School on 13.10.2012 and at BBS College on 20.10.2012. For 19-South Shillong (GEN), the campaign will held at Laban Bengalee Girls and Sankardev College on 6.10.2012 and at Lady Keane HSS, Laban Bengalee Boys and Laban Presbyterian on 13.10.2012.

For 20-Mylliem (ST), the campaign will be held at St. Gabriel HSS and Community Hall, Nongbet on 6.10.2012, Pomlum HS, San Shnong Proceeding High School on 13.10.2012 and Mawklot Presbyterian School and Lawsohtun Community Hall on 20.10.2012. For 21-Nongthymmai (ST) at St. John White Hall HSS and Lapalang Community Hall on 6.10.2012, Auxilium HSS and ITI Rynjah on 13.10.2012 and Community Hall, Nongshilliang on 20.10.2012. For 22-Nongkrem (ST), the campaign will be held at St. Peter’s LP & UP School, Madanrting and Pliti Syiem Memorial HS, Laitkor on 6.10.2012, Smit HS and Nongkrem HS on 13.10.2012 and RCLP School, Pomlakrai Liewlong on 20.10.2012. For 23-Sohiong (ST) at Govt. LP School Rangskhen on 6.10.2012, Govt. LP School Krang on 13.10.2012 and Govt. LP School Sohiong on 20.10.2012. For 24-Mawphlang (ST), the campaign will be held at the BDO’s office, Mawphlang on 6th and 13th October, 2012 and at BDO’s office, Laitkroh on 20th October, 2012.

For 25-Mawsynram (ST), the campaign will be held on 6.10.2012 at Govt. LP School, Phlangmawsyrpat and Mawsynram HSS, on 13.10.2012 at LP School, Mawdon Bazar. For 27-Pynursla (ST), the campaign will be held on 6.10.2012 at Durbar Hall, Pynursla (Iewsoh) and Govt. LP School, Wahlyngkhat, on 13.10.2012 at Community Hall, Pomlum and KJP SS, Pongtung and on 20.10.2012 at Govt. LP School, Mawbeh and Community Hall, Mawlynnong. For 29-Mawkynrew (ST), the campaign will be held at RK LP School, Laitdiengsai on 6.10.2012 and at Govt. LP School, Jongksha on 20.10.2012.

CHIEF MINISTER TO INAUGURATE ENTERPRISE FACILITATION CENTRE

Shillong, October 4, 2012: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dr. Mukul Sangma will inaugurate the “Enterprise Facilitation Centre” on October 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Pynursla C & RD Block, East Khasi Hills District. Meghalaya Minister of Forest & Environment, etc., Mr. Prestone Tynsong will also be present at the function.

The Centre is part of the Basin Development Unit of the District under the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development & Livelihood Promotion Programme.

DISTRICT LEVEL WORKSHOP ON NEGP AND E SERVICES

Shillong, October 4, 2012: A day long workshop on National e-Governance Plan and e-Service for the Government officials of the District was today organised by District e-Governance Society, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai in collaboration with Information Technology Department, Government of Meghalaya at the District Library Auditorium, Jowai. The Workshop was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai, Mr. P.S Dkhar.

Speaking at the inaugural of the workshop, Mr. Dkhar said the workshop on e-Governance will help the government officials to be in a better position to handle the situation when its introduce in the various Departments, this will also helped to be prepared when changes comes our way.

The workshop was conducted to generate awareness about National e- Governance Plan (NeGP) and e- Service. Devasish Bora, Sr. Consultant SEMT- Meghalaya IT Department and Sonamani Singh, Consultant, SEMT-Meghalaya, IT Department, through their presentation have helped the Government Officials to understand better the need for e-Governance and how to go about.

RICE LEVY SUGAR AND S.K OIL DISTRIBUTED.

Shillong, October 4, 2012: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply) West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the monthly Quota of APL, BPL, AAY & Additional quota of APL Rice, Levy Sugar and S.K Oil for the month of September, 2012 are being distributed to the consumer as per scale and rate through their respective fair price shops.

APL Quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 15.130Kgs per F.I card for both Rural and Urban areas. Selling rate for Urban is Rs. 9.70 per kg. While in rural areas the selling rate is fixed for their respective centre.

Additional APL quota of rice at the scale of 8.995 kgs per APL family at the rate of 9.70 per Kg in Urban areas while for the rural areas the rate is fixed at their respective centre.

BPL Quota at the scale of 35 Kgs per card at the rate of 6.15 per Kg for both Rural and Town areas.

AAY quota at the scale of 35 Kgs per card and at the rate of Rs. 3.00 per Kg for both Rural and Town areas.

Levy Sugar at the scale of 600grams per head for both Urban and Rural areas, at the rate of 14.21 per Kg for Urban areas while in Rural areas the rate is fixed for their respective centre.

S.K Oil at the scale of 6.5 litres per card in Town area at the rate of Rs. 16.41 per litres. In Rural areas at the scale of 3.5 litres per family per month at the rate fixed for their respective centres/villages.
