FRESH APPOINTMENT OF NOMINEES AGENTS IN PDS

Shillong, November 8, 2012: The Sub-Divisional Officer (S), Sohra Civil Sub-Division has informed that the term of appointment of existing Government Nominees/Agents in PDS expires on December 31, 2012. Therefore, applications are invited from interested persons, Cooperative Societies, NGOs and SHGs for fresh appointment of Government Nominees/Agents in PDS for the year 2013 at the Centres of Mawkdok, Laitryngew, Lad Sohbar, Shella and Sohra.

The application duly filled in should be furnished along with relevant documents within November 20, 2012.

Shillong, November 8, 2012: The office of the Sub Divisional Public Relations Officer, Sohra organized a one day Special Interactive Programme on the theme “Water and Its Preservation” on November 7, 2012 at Laittyra Community Hall, Sohbar Ilaka. The programme is a grassroot awareness campaign involving direct interaction between community and government officials.

Mr. K S Lyngskor, Sirdar Sohbar, who is the Chief Guest at the function, said that water is a basic necessity of life and should be preserved in a proper manner. He therefore called upon the public to work together with the government in the preservation of trees and catchment areas in and around Cherrapunjee.

During the programme, officials from different government departments including SDO, PHE, Shella, Project Manager, Cherrapunjee Ecological Project, SDM & HO, Sohra CHC, Range Officer, Soil & Water Conservation and Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, Sohra highlighted the various schemes of their departments which are meant for the public.

SELECTION FOR BOYS SPORTS COMPANY BANGALORE

Shillong, November 8, 2012: Boys Sports Company (BSC) Madras Engineering Group and Centre, Bangalore-42 will be conducting selection trials for selecting boys in the age group of 11 to 15 years for Boxing, Hockey and Swimming from 3rd December to 5th December 2012 at 7:00 AM at KV Pavilion, Opposite Boys Sports Company, Near Thom’s Bakery, Bangalore-42.

The academic qualification for this is class VI passed with adequate knowledge of English and Hindi. Physical and Medical Fitness will be ascertained by medical officer of MEG and Centre and Specialist of Sports Medicine Centre, Arty Centre, Hyderabad.

Selected candidates will be provided academic training from VII to X standard, free of cost in English medium school. Besides, intensive coaching in boxing, hockey and swimming will also be provided by Sports Authority of India (SAI) coaches.

The candidates must produced original copy of education certificate and birth certificate, sports kit for participation in selection for respective games, certificates of participation in district and above level games if any and six copies of latest passport size photographs.

Candidates are required to appear in the selection trails at their own expense and also make arrangements for their own accommodation.
