CM INAUGURATES THE SCHOOL BUILDING OF CASARINA PUBLIC SCHOOL AT TURA

Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. Mukul M Sangma inaugurated the School Building of Casarina Public School, Tura yesterday evening in the presence of Dikkanchi D Shira, Mahendraganj MLA, Rev Fr. P D Johny, Director, Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati, T R Laloo, Controller of Examinations, Meghalaya Board of School Education, Tura, other dignitaries, parents and teachers of Casarina Public School. While addressing the gathering of teachers, students and parents of the school, the Chief Minister acknowledged the wonderful team and faculty of the school for their impressive performance and also for the quality of education being imparted to the students of the area. He further expressed a deep sense of appreciation to the headmistress of the school for establishing such a self motivated and vibrant institution when the region needed it most and for managing to sustain it despite the challenges. The Chief Minister said that this is the outcome of high level of commitment to become the way they are which will enable the children to emanate positive energy and become responsible and productive citizens of the nation. He also expressed his satisfaction for motivating the children to realise their true potential and also for providing the right kind of leadership by creating enabling environment in the school. He further seeks partnership with such institution and hopes that the children of the school becomes a source of strength to parents in particular and community in general.

Guest of honour at the function, Rev Fr. P D Johny while speaking on the occasion has all praise for the dedicated team work and their wonderful display of talents at the function and named the headmistress as the best and amazing educator of Garo hills with bright future who can change the history and future of garo hills. Headmistress of Casarina Public School, Marina Marak in her speech informed the gathering that how with a humble beginning of the school with only 10 students in the year 2005 has increased to about 800 students at present with a focus to provide quality education and overall development of the students. The foundation of the school building was laid in the year 2009 and the present the school building is equipped with classrooms with installation of CCTV cameras in each classroom including computer and science laboratory and an auditorium, she added. The Chief Minister along with Dikkanchi D Shira handed over the Best Student Trophy and Certificate to Chikasin N Sangma and Alex Sangma for their excellent performance in academics and other co-curricular activities in the school.
