GUTKHA AND PAN MASALA BANNED

Shillong, May 16, 2014: The Deputy Commissioner of Food Safety, State Food Safety and Standards Authority, Meghalaya Shillong has informed all concerned that manufacture, storage, transport, sale or distribution of Gutkha and Pan Masala containing either Tobacco and Nicotine as ingredients has been prohibited under Sub Section (2) of Section 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 in the State of Meghalaya for a period of 1 year in the interest of public health.
