ORDER

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 14th November, 2020 has informed that shops with allotted serial numbers 5,6,1 and 2 will open on 16th, 19th, 25th and 28th November, 2020, shops with allotted serial numbers 3,4,5 and 6 will open on 17th, 20th, 23rd and 26th November, 2020 and shops with allotted serial numbers 1,2, 3 and 4 will open on 18th, 21st, 24th and 27th November, 2020 in Khasi market below Jaiaw Taxi stand at Motphran. The Incident Commander, Magistrates and Police will regulate the operation of shops and also to ensure due compliance to the advisories of Government in the Health & Family Welfare Department with special and strict reference to social distancing concerning the COVID-19 situation. The Deputy Commissioner also requested the public to strictly maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, not to overcrowd in one area or shop, shopkeepers and costumers shall mandatorily wear masks and non compliance will entail action of closure of the shops concerned, to refrain from spitting in public places and to cooperate with the management made by the District Administration and District Police.

ORDERS

Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Rev Nowin Karthak, Church of Assembly of God, Keating Road and in the house of Smti R Basaiawmoit, Riat Laban East near St John, Madan Laban which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 14th November, 2020 has declared the above mentioned houses as micro containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site with effect from 14th November, 2020. The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home. The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of the orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.

NOTICE

The Electoral Registration Officer of the Assembly Constituencies of 13-Mawryngkneng (ST), 14-Pynthorumkhrah (GEN), 15-Mawlai (ST), 16-East Shillong (ST), 17-North Shillong (ST), 18-West Shillong (GEN), 19-South Shillong (GEN), 20-Mylliem (ST), 21-Nongthymmai (ST), 22-Nongkrem (ST), 23-Sohiong (ST), 24-Mawphlang (ST), 25-Mawsynram (ST), 27-Pynursla (ST) and 29-Mawkynrew (ST) has published the Drafts of the Last Part of Electoral Rolls with reference to 1st January, 2021 as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. The same is available for inspection at their offices and Record Offices/ Authorities during working hours in all working days. This was informed by the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District.

MEPDCL ANNOUNCES ONE TIME SETTLEMENT (OTS) SCHEME FOR DEFAULTERS

The Chairman and Managing Director, Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) has informed that the corporation has announced the MePDCL ONE TIME SETTLEMENT (OTS) SCHEME, 2020 for all categories of defaulting consumers, including permanently disconnected consumers, having outstanding dues of electricity bills as on 31st March, 2020. The OTS Scheme offers waiver of 100 percent of Delayed Payment Charges (DPC) or 30 percent of the total outstanding dues, whichever is more beneficial to the consumers. The Scheme is valid for a limited period, that is, from 1st November, 2020 to 31st January, 2021. Consumers are requested to make most of the scheme and clear their liabilities to MePDCL and for detailed information they may contact their respective Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the distribution Sub-Division or Nodal Officer, OTS, MeECL Headquarter, Lumjingshai or they may also visit the website www.meecl.nic.in
