RICE RELEASED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that whole meal Atta (Tide Over) for all Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) families, Priority House Holds (PHH) and Non –NFSA in Urban and Rural areas for the month of December, 2017 quota has been released and will be distributed through Fair Price Shops at the scale of 10 kgs per card at the rate of Rs.8/- per kg. All Fair Price Shop dealers of the District are hereby requested to lift the allotted quota of whole meal atta immediately and to arrange the distribution to the beneficiaries. They are also directed to display the list of AAY,PHH and NON-NFSA beneficiaries in their shop. Any non-supply or overcharging of rate by the supplier may be brought to the notice of the of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong with all the details.

LAUNCHING OF CHIEF MINISTER HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME

Minister for Housing, Government of Meghalaya, Zenith M Sangma launched the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme today at Dikki Bandi Stadium, Tura. Noverfield R Marak, North Tura MLA, Ashahel D Shira, Rajabala MLA, Sadhiarani Sangma, Chairperson, GHADC, Ram Singh, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, M N Nampui, Secretary, Housing, D D Sangma, Director, Housing, G. Arengh, Co-Chairman, State Planning Board were amongst others present on the occasion. In his address, Zenith Sangma said it was a privilege to launch this ambitious programme under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul M Sangma which will provide financial assistance and roofing material to the economically weaker sections of the society and it will be implemented in both rural and urban areas. The nomenclature of the Meghalaya Affordable Housing Scheme has been changed to Chief Minister Housing Assistance Programme in which the government used to provide CGI sheets to beneficiaries earlier but it was stopped for some time, he informed. The housing scheme in its new avatar will have two components under which the government intends to provide construction materials to the beneficiaries and financial assistance of Rs. 75,000, he added.

Mr. Sangma further asserted that the selection committee for listing of beneficiaries will be done both at the district and the block level in order to speed up the process of implementation. He urged the beneficiaries to avail maximum benefit out of this scheme provided by the government and ensure decent dwelling homes for their family members. Director, Housing, D D Sangma delivered the keynote address and highlighted on the background and components of the scheme while Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Ram Singh welcomed the gathering on the occasion.
