COAL DUMPING PROHIBITED

The Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC instructing coal traders to strictly adhere to the condition as notified earlier that there should be no dumping of coal in residential premises, by the PWD roadside, in places adjacent to paddy fields or cultivable land and sources of drinking water. In places where coal has been dumped , proper fencing of not less than 10 feet high should be constructed at the portion, proper drainage and pit be constructed around the dumping area to prevent flow of polluted water to the adjoining areas.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
