ORDER

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has in an Order issued on 29th April, 2021 informed that entry, testing and quarantine protocols of the State applies to all individuals/returnees irrespective of the profession. Compliance to this is required in the interest of public health and to avoid a surge in cases. Anyone found violating the entry, testing and quarantine protocols shall be liable for penal actions as per law.

The Order is necessitated in view of several reports received that returnee(s) working in various Central Government offices/banking institutions/private offices/Armed forces are not following the entry, testing and quarantine protocols as instructed by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya from time to time and it is reported that officials are resuming their duties upon arrival in Shillong while their test results are being awaited and not following the protocol as mandated by the Government of Meghalaya.

MEGHALAYA GOVERNOR HOLDS CONSULTATIVE MEETING TO REVIEW COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS WITH THE ARMED FORCES

The Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Satya Pal Malik had a consultative meeting today with the heads of Army, Air Force, Assam Rifles, BSF and CRPF in Shillong. The meeting was called to review COVID-19 preparedness and strategies employed by the armed forces and paramilitary forces, their hospital and quarantine facilities, ICU and oxygen availability and coordination with the State government. The meeting was convened as per the advice of the Union Minister for Defence to review preparations at the level of armed forces and paramilitary forces to ensure cooperation and better coordination amongst them.

Air Marshal Shri Amit Dev, AOC HQ EAC from Air Force, Lt General Shri K C Panchanathan, GOC, 101 Area, Army, Major General Shri S S Deusi, Assam Rifles attended the meeting from the side of armed forces. Mrs Sonal V Mishra, IPS , CRPF attended representing CRPF and Shri D Haokip, DIG, BSF also attended from the side of the central paramilitary forces.

The invitees representing the armed forces and Central Paramilitary forces expressed their support in any emergency situation and promised also to extend full support to other services.
