TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR REFERRAL JUDGES

: A One day Training programme for Referral Judges was today organized by the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) in collaboration with the High Court Mediation Committee (HCMC) and the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) at the High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong. The day long training programme saw the attendance of various Judicial Officers with Smt. Jahnabi Baruah and Smt. Baharun Saikia, Mediators of the Gauhati High Court as Resource Persons at the programme. The programme saw deliberations on various facets of the Mediation Process as also, procedural aspects of referral cases for mediation of which includes topics like ‘Relevance of Mediation in the the Justice Delivery System’, ‘ Stages of Mediation and Benefits of Mediation’, ‘ Motivating and preparing Parties’, ‘ Role after conclusion of Mediation’, among others.

COMBINED BASIC COURSE TRAINING 2018 FOR SCOUTMASTER AND GUIDE CAPTAIN

The Deputy Commissioner, cum President of the Bharat Scout & Guides, East Khasi Hills District, Shri P. S. Dkhar today attended the valedictory function of the week long Combined Basic Course Training 2018 for Scoutmaster and Guide Captain held at the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, State Headquarter, Shillong. The training was organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, East Khasi Hills District Association and sponsored by the Government of Meghalaya under the Financial Assistance of the Voluntary Action Fund scheme through the office ofthe Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District. Altogether 63 scouts and guides drawn from 39 schools of East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi Districts attended the training. Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Shri Dkhar said that the main objective of the training is to promote scouting and guiding in all schools in the State with a purpose to contribute to the overall development of the students. He also urged the scoutmaster and guides captain attended the training to open the units in their respective schools. The scouts and guides movement played a very important role in moulding the character of the students by providing a platform to learn through experience, values of friendships, team work, harmony and humanity and make a positive contribution to the society, he added. During the training various scouting and guiding topics and activities such as tying of knots, first aid, flag procedure, fundamental of the movement, wood craft signs, hiking and camping and mid course evaluation, preparation for grand camp fire etc. were topics touched upon.
