MEGHALAYA BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES CONDUCTS CLEANING DRIVE TO COMMEMORATES WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted a Cleaning Drive in commemoration of the World Environment Day 2022 under the theme: ONLY ONE EARTH on the 11th June 2022, Scouts and Guides and Unit Leaders from Five Schools from East Khasi Hills namely Queenie Sec. School, May Fair Sec. School, St. John Sec. School, H. Elias Memorial Hr. Sec. School and St. Anthony's Hr. Sec. School actively participated in the drive including the Staff of the State Headquarters. The Cleaning Drive was done in the locations below from Late Bah Thanghok Rangad Point, Laban, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides-SHQ, Pine Mount School leading to Crinoline Swimming Pool and Seven Set Hr. Sec. School lane.

CO-CHAIRMAN OF STATE PLANNING BOARD VISITED THE FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS OF SOUTH WEST GARO HILLS

The Co Chairman of State Planning Board, Ian Botham K Sangma, along with his team, visited and inspected flood mitigation efforts and also distributed relief measures to people in flood hit areas of South West Garo Hills on Saturday.

Accompanied by Leena Daring Sangma, BDO of Betasing C and RD Block, the Co Chairman visited the woman who was injured due to a landslide and is currently undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital, Ampati. The Co Chairman also offered condolences and support, as he handed over an ex-gratia cheque to her and her family members, who lost an infant to nature's fury on the fateful Thursday morning.

The Co Chairman also visited the flood stricken areas under Zikzak C and RD Block and Darong Adu and inquired about the kind of relief and rehabilitation activities being carried out in their areas. He also interacted with the families affected by the recent natural calamities and assured them of required support and assistance from the state government.
