DISTRICT LEVEL INTER SCHOOL SUBROTO MUKHERJEE CUP FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2022 IN RI BHOI DISTRICT

The District Sport Officer, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has today the 27th June released the result of the District Level Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Cup Football Tournament 2022 which was held in two locations of Ri Bhoi District at Umdihar and Umbuda playground today the 27th June as follows: In the Under 14yrs, out of the 10 teams participated, the Christian Hr. Sec School Nongpoh beat R.B.P Hr.Sec school by 4 goals to 0 and Mynken Hr.Sec.School Bhoirymbong beat Umroi Presbyterian Hr.Sec.School by 1 goal to 0. Moreover, in the Under 17yrs for boys, there are 24 teams participated in the tournament, out of which Mynken Hr.Sec.School Bhoirymbong beat Umroi Presbyterian Hr.Sec.School by 1 goal to 0 whereas Nehru Memorial Hr.Sec school Umsning beat St.Joseph Hr.Sec School Umden by 3 goals to 2goals. In the Under 17yrs for girls, out of the 12 teams, the Saiden Sec. school beat Borkhatsari Presbyterian Secondary School Marngar by 8 goals to 0, Sati Raja Sec.School Umsning beat St.Michael Hr. Sec school by 5 goals to 0. In addition, Mynken Hr.Sec School Bhoirymbong beat St.Joseph Sec.school Umden by 6 goals to 0 and St.Vianney Secondary School Umsohlait beat Savio Hr.Secondary School Baridua by 6 goals to 0.

LAUNCHING OF THE PAYMENT FOR ECOSYSTEM SERVICE SCHEME FOR RIBHOI DISTRICT AT NONGPOH

The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh Shri Arpit Upadhyaya on 28th June officially launched the Payment for Ecosystem Service Scheme for Ri Bhoi District at Conference Hall DC Office, Nongpoh in the midst presence of government officials from different line departments, the Syiem of Hima Jirang, Shri H.Wahlang, Sordar of Nongpoh Elaka Shri Wanphrang Syiem, community leaders and others.

The Deputy Commissioner highlighted on the objectives of the scheme and its benefits which will be as an incentives to people financially and as well as helping people to be in close interaction with natural resources, hence he urge people of the district having natural forest land to take this opportunity for sustainability livelihood.

Shri W.Swer, General Manager KM briefed about the scheme saying that Payment Ecosystem Service Scheme is being implemented under Community Led Landscape Management Project aimed at supporting villages, communities, clans or individuals willing to conserve their existing land forest for a minimum period of 30 years in order to curb up the losses. He also explained on the guidelines and format of application for availing the scheme. Moreover, as per the guidelines informed that village, community, clan or any individual having minimum of 5 hectares of natural forest are eligible for the scheme and for those with land, less than 5 hectare can group their lands with other natural forest nearby so that the total size becomes 5 hectares.

Shri W.Swer also informed that recipients of the scheme can avail benefits through financial support of Rs. 8000 per hectare per year for 5 years. In addition, additional reward amount of Rs. 5000 per hectare per year will also be given to those natural forests which is already registered as community reserve with Forest Department and an amount of Rs 2000 per hectare per year will be given to those with a very dense forests or traditionally recognized as sacred grove or has a living root bridge or located in eco sensitive zones around protective areas like National parts, wildlife sanctuary or wildlife corridor.

He also give details for those forests which are not yet registered, the applicant may apply for registration with the forest department and a copy of receipt may be submitted while applying the PES scheme. After giving of the presentation followed by an interaction on the guidelines of the scheme. Meanwhile the members presented in the meeting showing a positive response about the scheme.

DISTRICT LEVEL INTER SCHOOL SUBROTO MUKHERJEE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, 2022 HELD AT TURA

The Final Match of the District Level Inter School Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament, 2022 was held at Artificial Football Turf, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Chandmary, Tura on 27th June, 2022. The programme was organized by the District Sports Office, West Garo Hills Tura. It may be mentioned that the Tournament was conducted from 14th June to 27th June, 2022 in two categories namely, under 14 years and under 17 years for both Boys and Girls. The Tournament was conducted on Knock Out basis and the duration of the match was 70 minutes. On the final day, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe graced the occasion as Chief Guest and handed over the Trophies and Certificates to the winning teams and individual players.

In Under 14 Boys category, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Tura is the Champion Team while Christian Boys Secondary School Tura is the Runner up Team. Wish Heart S Sangma from GBHSS was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper, Jenjimba Sangma from CBSS Top Scorer and Akim A Sangma from GBHSS the Player of the Tournament. In under 17 Boys category, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura is the Champion Team while Rongkhon Secondary School is the Runner up Team. Raian D Sangma was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper, Manrak S Sangma Top Scorer and Smart R Marak, the Player of the Tournament and all are from Rongkhon Secondary School.

Meanwhile, in under 17 Girls category, Monfort Dilne Bolchugre is the Champion Team and Rongkhon Secondary School is the Runner up Team. Hellina Ch Marak was adjudged the Best Goalkeeper, Gipanchi Ch Marak the Top Scorer and Silrime M Sangma, the Player of the Tournament and all are from Monfort Dilne Bolchugre School.

Further, the Tug of War for both Boys and Girls organized which was sponsored by the District Social Welfare Office, Tura. The Winner of the Tug of War of the Boys is Wadanang Secondary School and Runner Up is Government Higher Secondary School while Winner of the Girls Tug of War is Government Higher Secondary School and Runner Up is Wadanang Secondary School.
