TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR VOLUNTEERS ON FIRST AID, SEARCH AND RESCUE HELD

A two day Training programme for volunteers on First Aid, Search and Rescue organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills, Shillong was held at Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Hall, Shillong on 5th and 6th July, 2018. The programme was inaugurated by Smti I. Majaw, ADC and CEO, DDMA, Shillong. A total of 60 participants from various volunteers organizations which includes from Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Student Services, Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and non government agencies of Shillong city were trained to on the basics of First Aid and Search & Recue methods and engaged in a Mock Drill. The Training was imparted by the personnel from the Office of the Home Guards and Civil Defence, Shillong and was conducted under the aegis of the USAID- MHA-UNDP partnership project titled “Developing Resilient Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disasters and Climate Change” which is implemented in Shillong.

HOUSING DEPARTMENT WEBSITE LAUNCHED

The Directorate of Housing Government of Meghalaya launched its official website here today at the NIC Conference Hall Shillong by Smti. M.N. Nampui, IAS,Secretary, GoM, Housing. Speaking during the occasion Smti. M. N. Nampui said that the Housing department now has its own official website and is now open for scrutiny and it is the duty and responsibility of the officials of the Housing Departments of all the districts in the state to upload all the information and content into the website on a regular basis. The website is important not only for uploading information and content relating to the department but also for maintaining transparency she added. Among others who spoke during the launch of the website were Shri. T. Dkhar, DDG, State Informatics Officer, NIC Meghalaya, Shri David D. Sangma, MCS, Director of Housing, GoM and Shri. Francis Kharshiing Asst. Director of Housing, GoM. The website can at reached at meghousing.gov.in .

The Sub Divisional Officer (S) Sohra Sub Division has informed the general public that any complaints/grievances can be done through the PDS Grievance Redressal Mechanism: Toll Free Number 1967 or 1800-345-3670 and Whatsapp Number 9402327737 are in place for citizens to lodge complaints or to find out information about the Department. The Sub Division has also identified Sub Divisional Grievance Redressal Officers and Assistant Grievance Redressal Officers to address the issues faced by the citizens. Complaints can be lodged online via the Meghalaya Public Grievances Redressal and Monitoring System (MEGPGRAMS website at www.megpgrams.gov.in The citizens can also visit the Department website at http://megfcsca.gov.in Alternatively, the State Consumer Grievance Redressal for the welfare of consumers in the State, Consumer Dispute Redressal Mechanism is in place.
