BIJLI MAHOTSAV CELEBRATED AT GASURA AND ANANGPARA

The Ministry of Power, in association with the District Administration of South West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, organized two days Bijli Mahotsav, as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, at Gasura and Anangpara villages on Monday and Tuesday respectively, to celebrate the collaboration between the Central and the State Governments.

Highlighting the key achievements of the power sector under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya Power at 2047 for more public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large, the weeklong celebration with cultural programs, nukkad nataks and screening of short films on the power sector, commenced on July 21st which will be culminated on July 31st, 2022.

The celebration at Gasura was attended by BDO of Betasing, Leena Daring Sangma, MCS, Nodal Officer and General Manager of NEEPCO, Ranjan Mallick, Executive Engineer, MePDCL, CM Marak, VEC Secretary, community leaders and beneficiaries from the localities among others. The celebration at Anangpara was attended by Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Officer of Zikzak, Dr. BBM Sangma, Nodal Officer and General Manager of NEEPCO, Ranjan Mallick, Executive Engineer, MePDCL, CM Marak and Nokma of Anangpara among many others.

BIJLI MAHOTSAV HELD IN BAGHMARA

The Meghalaya Power Department South Garo Hills District has organised a Bijli Mahotsav which is under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya @ 2047 at Karukol Jalaigre Village South Garo Hills District. This initiative aims at providing electricity connection to any left out economically weaker unelectrified and inaccessible villages today at Karukol Jalaigre village South Garo Hills.

The Chief guest of the function Shri Rakkam A Sangma Local MLA Rongara Siju Constituency while highlighting the benefits of electricity applauded the power Department of the South Garo Hills District for their selfless effort in bringing back the electrical normalcy in the District after the major setbacks in the recent flash floods.

He also sought for peoples cooperation in maintaining the good flow of electricity while informing the other projects and schemes that are being implemented by the Government to uplift the rural mass. Motivating the gathering he urged upon them to extend their support in successfully implementing the various schemes and projects initiated by the Government

The Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills Shri F.M Dopth IAS, Senior Official from NEEPCO Shri K.K.Kongwar DGM, officials from the Meghalaya Power Department South Garo Hills as well as the District Officials were present and spoke on the occasion. Besides, the two beneficiaries from the locality has shared their benefits and experiences in the programme.

E COURT FEE SYSTEM LAUNCHED IN MEGHALAYA

The Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Mr Justice Sanjib Banerjee today launched the Meghalaya E Court Fee System in the presence of Shri James P K Sangma, Minister for Registration, Taxation & Stamps, Law, etc, Judges of the Meghalaya High Court, Mr Justice H S Thangkhiew and Mr Justice W Diengdoh at a function held at the High Court of Meghalaya.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Justice Sanjib Banerjee said that it is an important and memorable day as the process of access to justice will be eased to a certain extent. He urged for the co operation of the Bar Association as they will be the real users of the system on a daily basis. He hoped that the members of the Bar would acquaint themselves with the new system and use it accordingly.He expressed his gratitude to the government for its continuous support and also to the Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited for its participation in the process of digitization in the state.

Shri James P K Sangma in his speech highlighted the salient features of the E Court Fee System, and also dwelt at length about the benefits of using the digital method instead of a physical one.

It may be mentioned that NCT of Delhi is the first State to initiate the launch of e Court Fee Collection system in November 2012. Meghalaya is the 17th state in the country to implement this system. E Court Fee is a web-based system of paying court fees with the facility of verification, reconciliation, locking and cancellation.

The E Court Fee will benefit the general public by providing easy accessibility, faster processing, online verification of genuineness of e-Court fee paid, single court fee receipt of exact denomination irrespective of the amount and convenience of online payment of e Court fee from home or office.

The E Court fee will also benefit the Government by providing safe and accurate collection mechanism, single point remittance to Government, it is ideal for paperless courts as only e Court fee number has to be mentioned in the petition, it will save space, manpower and cost saving, audit trail and MIS reporting.

BIJLI MAHOTSAV ORGANISED IN PYNURSLA

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of India Independence, The Ministry of Power in association with Power System operation Corporation Limited and MePDCL organized a Bijli Mahotsav in Pynursla, East Khasi Hills district on 26th July 2022. Shri Ryngkatlang Lyndem, MDC Langkyrdem Laitkroh graced the programme as Chief Guest.

Bijli Mahotsav was used as a platform to celebrate the collaboration between the state and the Central Governments and highlight the key achievements of the power sector

It may be mentioned that Bijli Mahotsavs are being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya Power at 2047 for more public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large. To engage with the visitors and guests, various cultural programmes, nukkad nataks and screening of short films on the power sector were organized.

The programme was also attended by Pynursla C and RD BDO, Shri G. Warjri, District Nodal Officer and Senior GM HR, NERLDC, POSOCO, Shri V F Desouza among others.
