Press Release No. 592/20

ORDER

Due to the detection of positive COVlD-19 cases/ high risk contacts in specified areas in Jhalupara and due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in supersession to order issued earlier, has issued an order on 19th August, 2020 extended the containment areas from Jhalupara Community Hall, Gopal Ji Compound till Musa Compound and also declared Maya Compound, Jhalupara as containment areas with effect from 19th August, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site. The order states that no person, public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home. Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms including social, political, religious, economic activities are not allowed. All shopping establishments shall be closed immediately and supply of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration.

All Government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment area are to close forthwith, till further orders. According to the order, the Incident Commander, Zone-IV, will be the Supervising Officer areas from Jhalupara Community Hall, Gopal Ji Compound till Musa Compound and Maya Compound, Jhalupara which are declared as containment areas. The order, however, will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, press including electronic and print media, petrol pump and LPG delivery workforce. The order also states that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C

Due to the detection of positive COVlD-19 cases/ high risk contacts in Sweeper Colony, Mawlonghat and due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued on 19th August, 2020 has declared the houses of Baldeep Singh, Maya Kaur and Janki Kaur in Plot-I block A at Sweeper Colony, Mawlonghat as containment areas with effect from 19th August, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site. The order states that no person, public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home. ORDERS

Based on the contact tracing status and test reports of the high risk contacts in house of Pynhunlang Lyngdoh at Lower Lummawrie and House No. U/B-007, Behind Victoria Landmark Guest House, Upper Nongrim Hills, and in view of the reports received thereof, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 19th August, 2020 has lifted the containment orders issued earlier for the house of Pynhunlang Lyngdoh at Lower Lummawrie and House No. U/B-007, Behind Victoria Landmark Guest House, Upper Nongrim Hills with effect from 19th August, 2020.

ORDER

The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 19th August, 2020 has informed that Allahbad Bank, Jeep Stand and Meghalaya Co-operative Apex Bank, Jeep Stand are exempted from the purview of the containment order issued for Motphran area till Bimola Point, Motphran area to Stand Jeep area and MUDA Parking Lot (Upper Level) at Garikhana issued on 18th August, 2020. (MIPR) However, these banking establishments are advised to strictly follow all protocols of the Government of Meghalaya in the Health and Family Welfare Department.

In view of the fact that all norms of social distancing, hand hygiene and wearing of masks are being flouted in areas of Laitumkhrah from Police Point till Mohanson’s Dry Cleaner which is in total violation of the Prohibitory Order issued on 15th August, 2020 and whereas it is deemed necessary to control the spread of the pandemic especially in the identified commercial areas in the interest of the safety of the health of the general public against any further spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in the order issued on 19th August, 2020 has declared that all shops and business establishments should remain closed in Laitumkhrah from Police Point till Mohanson’s Dry Cleaner and until further orders The order stated that no person, public are allowed to operate any form of business in the specified areas as mentioned above. Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms including social, political, religious, economic activities are not allowed. All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. All Government and private institutions located within the boundaries of the specified areas are to close forthwith, till further orders. According to the order, the Incident Commander, Zone-I, will be the Supervising Officer of the specified area in Laitumkhrah from Police Point till Mohanson’s Dry Cleaner. The Orders, however, will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, press including electronic and print media, pharmacies, LPG delivery workforce and Banks. The order states that no person, public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home. Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms including social, political, religious, economic activities are not allowed. All shopping establishments shall be closed immediately and supply of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration.
