ORDER

Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/ high risk contacts in the specific identified house at Malki and due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued on 27th August, 2020 has declared the house of Mr. Wanlamphrang Kharmujai, Umshyrpi, Near Malki Ground, Malki as containment area with effect from 27th August, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site. The order states that no person, public are allowed to move into the containment area and inhabitants within the containment area shall not move out, besides all inhabitants within the containment area shall strictly remain inside their home. Gatherings, events, functions whatsoever of any nature and forms including social, political, religious, economic activities are not allowed. All shopping establishments shall be closed immediately and supply of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through various teams formed by the District Administration. All Government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment area are to close forthwith, till further orders. According to the order, the Incident Commander, Zone-I, will be the Supervising Officer for the house of Mr. Wanlamphrang Kharmujai, Umshyrpi, Near Malki Ground, Malki which is declared as containment area. The order, however, will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, press including electronic and print media, petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. The order also states that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.

Due to the detection of positive COVID-19 cases/ high risk contacts in the specific identified quarters of Municipal Quarter at Bishop Cotton Road and due to recent high risk and low risk contact with the COVID-19 positive cases, vulnerable and affected areas require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, in an order issued on 27th August, 2020 has declared the Quarter No. A4, Quarter No A5, Quarter No A6, Quarter No A7, Quarter No A8 and Quarter No A9 of Municipal Quarter at Bishop Cotton Road as containment areas with effect from 27th August, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site. ORDER

Based on the contact tracing status and test reports of the high risk contacts in Musa Compound at Jhalupara and the reports received thereof and in partial modification of the containment order issued on 19th August, 2020 and in exercise of the powers under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 and Amendments thereof, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 27th August, 2020 has lifted the containment for Musa Compound at Jhalupara with effect from 27th August, 2020. However, the area from Jhalupara Community Hall till Gopal Ji compound and Maya compound, Jhalupara are still retained as containment areas.
