NOTIFICATION

The Government of Meghalaya has notified the Labour Commissioner, Shri T. G. Momin, MCS as the State Nodal Officer for the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to co-ordinate on all matters relating to NCPCR at the state level. In another notification, the Government of Meghalaya has notified the Joint Labour Commissioner in charge Deputy Labour Commissioner, Tura, Deputy Labour Commissioners of Shillong, Jowai, Nongstoin, Nongpoh, Williamnagar and Baghmara and Assistant Labour Commissioners of Khliehriat, Mawkyrwat, Resubelpara and Ampati as Nodals Officers for the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to co-ordinate on all matters relating to NCPCR at the District Level. This was informed by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour Department.

VIRTUAL DISTRICT LEVEL OFFICERS MEET CUM WORKSHOP

A 3 days Virtual District Level Officer's Meet cum Workshop was organized by the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides which was held on the 7th to 9th September 2020. Shri W. Lyngdoh, Jt. State Secretary delivered the welcome speech and Shri. A. Sarma Assistant Director of NER graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The main focus of having this meet cum workshop was to provide proper information and guidelines to improve the working structure of the District Level Officer's during the Covid-19 period. About 40 members from different districts of Meghalaya were present during the Meet. The topics which were discussed during the meet was on Duties and Responsibilities, Fund Raising and Financial Policy, Reflections, prayer and Reports from the Districts, Online Registration, Programme & Planning (Current Projects), Trainings, Regional & National Level activities. The STCs from the SHQ assisted in giving all possible information and motivate the District Officers for the smooth management of the District. Shri Amar Chettri, Joint Director of National Headquarters was invited as the Chief Guest during the Valedictory Function. Speaking on the occasion, while highlighting the importance of Scouting and Guiding in the Nation building said that Bharat Scouts and Guides besides their outer expression of courage and boldness, they also have with them the inner spirit of compassion, unity and brotherhood.

PACHMARHI DAY CELEBRATED

The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated Pachmarhi Day on 10th September 2020 at the State Training Centre, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Umtyngar. The significance of celebrating this day holds importance as Pachmarhi is a station where the Bharat Scouts and Guides locates its National Training Centre and National Adventure Institute where National trainings of various levels ranging from adult to youth are usually conducted. Shri Kenneth Kharkongor, State Commissioner (S) was present as the Chief Guest and the Rangbah Shnong, Umtyngar accompanied as the Guest of honour. The celebration started with the opening of the Pachmarhi Corner followed by the welcome speech and personal addresses by the invited dignitaries. Plantation of trees and flowers to collaborate with the International Day of Peace 2020 as part of the global peace activity was also carried out at the same location.
