PRICE OF SSP

Shillong, January 11, 2013: The Director of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya has informed that the price of SSP per sale to the consumers of the State/Government Department/Farmers has been revised with effect from 2012.

For Government Departments, the price of SSP (P) is Rs. 9321/- MT and for farmers is Rs. 9065/- MT. The price of SSP (Agro) is Rs. 9618/- MT for Government Departments and Rs. 9351/- MT for farmers.

WHOLE-MEAL ATTA DISTRIBUTED

Shillong, January 11, 2013: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District has informed that Whole-meal Atta for the month of November, 2012 is being distributed through the Fair Price shops at the scale of 1128 grams per head at the rate of Rs. 7.80 per kg.

Any non supply or overcharging of the rate by the suppliers may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong with all the details.

CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL VOTERS DAY

Shillong, January 11, 2013: The National Voters Day will be celebrated on January 25, 2013 in all the Polling Stations, Sub-Divisional and District headquarters of the State. In the State capital, a Run for Democracy will be organized by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya on the said date.

The run will be flagged off from the Soso Tham Auditorium (State Central Library) from 7:00 AM and the route to be covered will include Police Bazar, Motphran, Jeep Stand, GS Road, Stanley Roy Petrol Pump, Mawlai Nonglum, Mawlai Mawdatbaki, FCI, Mawroh, PTS, Golf Links, Polo Bazar, Fourth Furlong, MES, Rynjah, Khlieh Nongthymmai, St. Edmund’s and culminate at Soso Tham Auditorium.

Cash awards of Rs. 25,000/-, Rs. 20,000/- and Rs. 15,000/- will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winner respectively for men and women upto 35 years and above 35 years. Consolation prizes of Rs. 10,000/- will also be given to the youngest and oldest participant. Ten lucky winners will be given @ Rs. 1000/- each by draw of lot amongst those who have completed the run.

Participants are to submit their names alongwith proof of age to Mr. S Warjri or Mr. P T Passah, Extra Assistant Commissioners in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Shillong, Room No. 324, during office hours before January 23, 2013.
