Press Release No. 26/07 TRAINING FOR STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION 2007 The Coaching-Cum-Guidance Centre (CGC) for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Shillong will conduct a ten (10) day Training Programme for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates preparing to appear the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (Preliminary) Examination 2007 to be held on February 04, 2007. The 10 (ten day Training Programme will commence from January 17, 2007. Candidates interested to attend the programme may bring their Staff Selection Commission’s Admit Card or Post Card bearing their Roll Number to the Employment Officer, Coaching-Cum-Guidance Centre (CGC) for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes C/O Smti. S. Dkhar, Hopkinson Road, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong-793001 on or before January 17, 2007. |
Press Release No. 27/07 YEAR OF THE FARMER 2007 The observation of the year 2007 as the “Year of the Farmer” initiated by the State Planning Board and organized by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya, in collaboration with various State/Central Departments, NGOs and farmers, will be formally launched on January, 2007 at Polo grounds, Shillong for the Districts of Ri-Bhoi, Jaintia, East and West Khasi Hills. The event will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya at 10.30 a.m. in the presence of dignitaries, prominent citizens, officials and farmers. Kisan Mela/Exhibition will also be held at the above locations for the sale and display of various products, etc. to be taken up and participated by the farmers, State/Central Departments and NGOs/SHGs involved in the field of agriculture and allied activities. All are invited to actively participate and visit the different stalls during the launching programmes of this genuine endeavour to promote the welfare of the farming community of our State. |
Press Release No. 28/07 DRIVE AGAINST ILLICIT LIQUOR The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that the Excise staff of the East Khasi Hills in its drive against illicit liquor conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in and around Shillong during the month of December 2006 and detected 83 cases with a seizure of 104.225 litres of i/d liquors and 9.250 litres of IMFL. In this connection 74 persons have been arrested under the Excise Act. |
