HELIBORNE GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY

Shillong, January 17, 2011: The Deputy Commissioner (Rev), East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Atomic Minerals, Directorate for Exploration & Research has been conducting a Heliborne Geophysical Survey within the East Khasi Hills District with effect from 14.1.2011 onwards. The Helicopter will be flying at low altitude for the purpose of extracting the required Geophysical data within the District. For this purpose, members of the public are requested to extend all possible help and cooperation for the successful conduct of the aerial survey.

SALE OF MEGHALAYA CALENDAR 2011

January 17, 2011: This is for general information that the multi-pages and single page Meghalaya Calendar 2011 will be put on sale from January 18, 2011 onwards from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the office of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong. The price of multi-pages calendar is Rs. 35/- while that of single page is Rs. 5/-.

FINAL PUBLICATION OF PHOTO ELECTORAL ROLL

January 17, 2011: The Electoral Registration Officer of Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the list of amendment to the draft Photo Electoral Roll for 1-Nartiang Assembly Constituency. 2-Jowai Assembly Constituency. 3- Raliang Assembly Constituency. 4- Mowkaiaw Assembly Constituency has been prepared with reference to 1.1.2011 as qualifying date, in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules 1960 and is available for inspection at the office of the Election Branch, Deputy Commissioner’s Office Jowai and Designated Polling Station locations during office hours.

JOWAI MUNICIPAL ELECTION PUT ON HOLD

January 17, 2011: The District Magistrate of Jaintia Hills District has informed that in view of a High Court Order relating to conduct of elections for the Jowai Municipal Board, the State Government has decided to put the election on hold till further notice.
