ADMINISTRATIVE REFORMS COMMISSION TO CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARING

The Administrative Reforms Commission is holding a public hearing to elicit suggestions for improving delivery of services and reforming the administration. All areas of administration at the state, national and local level will be covered. Citizens are invited to participate and give presentations with concrete suggestions (along with written submission)

The hearing will be held on January 6, 2007 at Hotel Pinewood, Shillong between 1400 hours and 1630 hours followed by a Press Conference at 1645 hours onwards.

Interested parties may confirm their participation by giving their names, phone numbers or email I/D to the Deputy Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Cell, Main Secretariat building, Room No-209.

MEGHALAYA CHIEF MINISTER FELICITATED

The Durbar Shnong of Kdonghulu village in collaboration with the Durbar of the Raid Iapngar felicitated Meghalaya Chief Minister, Mr. J. D. Rymbai at Kdonghulu, Umroi on December 29, 06 in the presence of local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. S. W. Rymbai, Mr. F. M. Mawphniang, local MDC and EM KHADC, headmen and local residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rymbai expressed happiness to associate himself with the people of Kdonghulu, being his birth place. Appreciating the efforts of the Durbar Raid Iapngar and Kdonghulu for giving him the opportunity to get a first hand experience of the hardships faced by the people through the programme, he informed that the Government has laid emphasis on developing rural areas and improving the status of life of the people, through economic empowerment. Urging the people to cooperate with all developmental initiatives of the government, he stressed on the importance of judicious exploitation of natural resources and the need to promote tourism in the State.

Earlier, Mr. Rymbai inaugurated the 1st Naphi Sabet Badminton Tournament organized by the Seng Samla of the village.
