Press Release No. 47/18 NATIONAL LOK ADALAT The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi will hold the National Lok Adalat on all subject matters on the 10th February, 2018 in the High Court of Meghalaya, all District Courts, all District Council Courts, and all Sub-Divisional Courts. Any person or party receiving the Lok Adalat NOTICE may appear personally before the Lok Adalat benches for settlement of their dispute amicably. |
Press Release No. 48/18 REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION Together with the rest of the country, Republic Day will be celebrated on January 26, 2018 in the State of Meghalaya. In Shillong, the Governor of Meghalaya, Shri. Ganga Prasad will hoist the National Flag and take the salute. The Deputy Commissioners/Sub-Divisional Officers/EACs will hoist the National Flag and take the salute at their respective Districts and Sub Divisions. Press Release No. 49/17 TWO MINUTES SILENCE TO BE OBSERVED In connection with observance of silence on the 30th January, 2018 in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India Freedom, two minutes silence will be observed at 11:00 AM in the whole State. Silence should be observed and work and movement should come to a standstill throughout for two minutes. The commencement and termination of the two minutes silence would be indicated by sounding of army guns and sirens. Press Release No. 50/18 144 CRPC IMPOSED IN WKHD The District Magistrate West Khasi Hills District Nongstoin has imposed an order under 144 CrPC in the whole District of West Khasi Hills prohibiting carrying of licensed arms and other lethal weapons including indulging in any kind of activity by any member of the public that may vitiate the smooth, free and fair conduct of elections. Use of loudspeakers, whether fitted on vehicles of any kind, or in static position used for public meetings for electioneering purposes during the entire election period starting from the date of announcement of election and ending with the date of declaration of results shall be permitted from 0600 hours to 2200 hours. All political parties, candidates and any other persons using loudspeakers on moving vehicles including but not restricted to trucks, tempos, cars, taxis, vans, three wheeler scooters, cycle rickshaws, etc. shall intimate the registration identification number of those vehicles to the authorities granting permission to use the loudspeakers and such registration identification numbers of the vehicles shall be indicated on the permits granted by the authorities concerned. |
