STATE LEVEL EXHIBITION INAUGURATED AT JOWAI

Shillong, 24 January, 2011: A ten day state level exhibition on PMEGP unit organized by the Meghalaya Khadi and Village Board, Shillong was inaugurated by Shri. T Dkhar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Jaintia Hills District at Madan Tympang Club Jowai on the 21st January 2011. Other dignitaries present at the function included Shri S Syiemlieh, District Magistrate, Smt. M. B. Roy, CEO MK VIB, Shri. T. Wanninag, Deputy CEO, MK VIB, Shri Najiar VIO MKVIB Jowai and others official of different departments of the District.

Speaking in the inaugural function, Chief Guest Shri T Dkhar, encouraged the people of Jowai to support the participants of the Exhibition by purchasing their products. He also urged the unemployed youth, to approach the office of KVIB with regard to any enquiry on central schemes and to avail them and eradicate poverty from the region. Being the Meghalaya Day, he conveyed his best wishes to all the people of Jaintia Hills District.

OVERLOADED VEHICLES PROHIBITED FROM PLYING ON BAILEY BRIDGE

Shillong, 24 January, 2011: The District Magistrate, Jaintia Hills District, Jowai under Section 144 Cr P.C has prohibited plying of overloaded commercial vehicles on the Bailey Bridge KM 173.100 at Malidor under NH – 44 on Jowai Badarpur – Churaibari Road under Jaintia Hills District.

The average weight per commercial vehicles should not be more than 9 Mts as the permissible limit of the bridge is not more than 20Mts.

The notification comes after the information stated by the E.E (Civ) Road Construction Coy (GREF) on the dilapidated condition of the Bailey bridge.

EX- SERVICEMEN RALLY TO BE HOSTED IN SHILLONG

Shillong, 24 January, 2011: The Secretary Rajya Sainik Board and Director Sainik Welfare Meghalaya notifies that the Ex-Servicemen Annual State Rally 2011 will be held on 11th February 2011 at Don Bosco Technical School Hall. Hon’ble Minister In Charge GAD Shri Prestone Tynsong will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Rally will be followed by a Barakhana (Lunch). All ESM (Veterans) and widows are requested to attend the rally and be seated by 10 AM for the Directors Session.
