MEGHALAYA GOVERNOR LEADS 76TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS IN SHILLONG

The Hon'ble Governor of Meghalaya, Shri C.H. Vijayashankar, graced the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Shillong with his esteemed presence. The day began with the Hon’ble Governor attending the parade and taking the National Salute at the Polo Grounds, Shillong. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various contingents, showcasing the rich cultural heritage, discipline, and patriotism of the state.

In his message, the Hon'ble Governor extended warm wishes to the citizens of Meghalaya and called for collective efforts to uphold the ideals of democracy, unity, and progress. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity and development, reiterating Meghalaya's commitment to the vision of a strong and united India.

Later, the Hon’ble Governor hosted the traditional "At Home" reception at the Raj Bhavan, Shillong. The event was attended by dignitaries, officials, and prominent citizens from various walks of life. The gathering reflected the spirit of camaraderie and national pride, emphasizing the unity and harmony that binds the people of the state. He also presented the awards to the winners of the Flower Show organised at Raj Bhavan which is a Calendar Event now.

Cultural performances from states and ICCR added the charm to the celebration. The Hon’ble Governor expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the celebrations a grand success, reaffirming the significance of the Republic Day as a reminder of the Constitution's enduring values
