FINAL PUBLICATION OF ELECTORAL ROLLS

The Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Garo Hills District, Tura has informed that the Final Publication of Photo Electoral Rolls of Assembly Constituencies under West Garo Hills District has been prepared with reference to 01-01-2017 as qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 for 46-Phulbari, 47-Rajabala, 48-Selsela (ST), 50-North Tura (ST), 51-South Tura (ST), 52-Rangsakona (ST), 56-Gambegre (ST), 57-Dalu (ST) Assembly Constituencies. A copy of the said roll together with the list of additions is available for inspection at Electoral Registration office or at their respective blocks in the District.

FINAL PUBLICATION OF PHOTO ELECTORAL ROLLS

The District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed that the list of amendment to the draft photo electoral roll for the 13-Mawryngkneng (ST), 14-Pynthorumkhrah (GEN), 15-Mawlai (ST), 16-East Shillong (ST), 17-North Shillong (ST), 18-West Shillong (GEN), 19-South Shillong (GEN), 20-Mylliem (ST), 21-Nongthymmai (ST), 22-Nongkrem (ST), 23-Sohiong (ST), 24-Mawphlang (ST), 25-Mawsynram (ST), 27-Pynursla (ST) and 29-Mawkynrew (ST) Assembly Constituencies has been prepared with reference to 1st January, 2017 as qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. A copy of the said list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong and at the office of all Block Development Officers concerned during office hours.

DRIVE AGAINST ILLICIT LIQUOR

: In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of November, 2016, detected 15 cases with a seizure of 17.800 litres of i/d liquor and 1.560 litres IMFL. In this connection, 14 persons were arrested under Excise Act.
