MINISTER OF STATE FOR MINISTRY OF WOMEN AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT VISITS TO MAWKYRWAT

Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai, Minister of state for Women and Child development and Ayush, Government of India today visited the One stop center and Ayush Hospital, Aganwadi center at Mawkyrwat and had a review meeting with some District Heads on the successful implementation of central schemes and flagship programmes in the district at the conference Hall, Circuit House, Laitlawsang, Mawkyrwat.

Dr Mahendrabhai, Union minister of State while reviewing with the district team with regards to the success implementation of schemes like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Schemes (MGNREGS), Health, Roads, Swaach Bharat Mission (SBM), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), Janasi Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram (JSSK) and other schemes also discussed with them on the issues and challenges that they faced while implementing the schemes.

He also suggests ways and means for improvement of health care in the district. While pointing at the health scenario in the district he suggested ways and means towards its improvement, he also advised that exercise, regular checking of Blood Sugar for diabetic patients should be encouraged and promote thereby laying great stresses on the use of yoga as it helps to curb addiction, mental stress, depression and various other diseases. He was also of view that central schemes should be completed within the specific period and there should not be any delay in implementation of schemes for the benefit of the general masses. He also directed that notice should be served to contractors in case of delay so that the speedy progress and successful implementation of the projects is not disrupted or hampered.

He was happy to see that the district is working well and is not lagging behind despite the constraints and challenges that they have to face. He also inspired officials of the district to give their extra efforts and to dedicate their service towards progress and over all development of this area. Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai also handed over the Work order under MGNREGS for construction of the road from Mawbah to Eitser at Mawlangwir village at the cost of Rs. 9.67 lacs and Pung Amrit Sarovar at the cost of Rs. 9.20 lac at Rangmaw village.

Mr. E. Tariang, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Mawkyrwat, Dr. F.R. Lartang, District Medical & Health Officer (DM and HO), South West Khasi Hills District, Mr. S. Najiar, Executive Engineer, PHE, Mr. K.C. Nongrum Executive Engineer. PWD (Roads) Ranikor Division Roads, Mrs. S. Kharsahnoh, District School Education Officer (DSEO) and Mr. K. Snaitang, District Programme Manager (DPM) of DRDA gave a brief report on the implementation of schemes through power point presentation.
