Press Release No. 769/06 RENEWAL OF S K OIL AGENTS AND RETAILERS The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed to all S K Oil Agents/Retailers under Urban and Rural areas that their licenses for purchase/sale and storage for sale of S K Oil is due for renewal for the calendar year 2007. S K Oil retailers under East Khasi Hills are hereby directed to submit their applications through their respective headmen and Block Development Officer (Rural) in prescribed Form, which may be obtained from the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong. All application should be submitted on or before the 12th December 2006. |
Press Release No. 770/06 STATE AND DISTRICT INCENTIVE AWARDS GIVEN TO OUTSTANDING ANGANWADI WORKERS Three outstanding Anganwadi workers from Garo Hills were conferred with the State Incentive Awards, while 12 other Anganwadi workers and helpers were conferred with the District Incentive Awards at the function organized by the ICDS Cell, Tura at the Circuit House, Tura recently. The awards were given away by the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura, Mr. Sampath Kumar, who attended the programme as the chief guest, alongwith the Joint Director, Social Welfare, Ms. L N Jyrwa and Senior Medical Officer, Dr. J C Sangma. The recipients of the State Incentive Awards are Ms. O G Momin of Resu-Bakrapara Anganwadi Centre, East Garo Hills, Ms. E B Marak of Bolwari-Darichikgre Anganwadi Centre and Ms. B B Marak of Okkapara Anganwadi Centre in West Garo Hills. Six Anganwadi workers and six Anganwadi helpers from different Anganwadi Centres in the three District of Garo Hills received the District Incentive Awards. Addressing the gathering before giving away the awards, Mr. S Kumar said that the ICDS is a very important programme of the Government to bring about change in the rural areas and that the Anganwadi workers can help not only in physical development of the children, but also improve education parameters. He congratulated all the State and District awardees and urged upon them to work in convergence with the Self Help Group and ASHA health activists at their village level for all round development of the society. Others who spoke on the occasion were Joint Director, Social Welfare, Ms. L N Jyrwa, Senior Medical Officer, Dr. J C Sangma, DSWO, Tura, Ms. V A Sangma, CDPO, Rongjeng, Mr. S D Arengh and CDPO, Rongram, Ms. L J Sangma while the welcome address was offered by District Programme Officer, ICDS Cell, Tura, Mr. S R Marak. |
Press Release No. 771/06 COACHING CLASS FOR SSC EXAMINATION The Coaching-cum-Guidance Centre (CGC) for SC/ST, Shillong will conduct a 10 (ten) day training programme for SC/ST candidates preparing to appear in the Staff Selection Commission, Section Officer (Commercial Audit) Exam 2006 to be held on November 26, 2006. The training programme will commence on November 6, 2006. Candidates interested to attend the training programme may bring the Staff Selection Commission’s Admit Card or Post Card bearing their Roll Number to the Employment Officer, CGC, C/o Smti. S Dkhar, Hopkinson Road, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong-1 on or before November 6, 2006. |
Press Release No. 772/06 ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 CR. PC In view of Kali Puja/Diwali which will be celebrated on October 21 and 22, 2006 in the whole East Khasi Hills District, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr.PC prohibiting the sale, purchase and procurement of crackers/fireworks producing bursting sound except Tarabatti (all types) and Tubri (without sound) in all public places and public thoroughfares. The use of fireworks and firecrackers shall be permitted between 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. No fireworks and firecrackers shall be permitted between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. In view of the urgency of the matter, this order comes into immediate effect and will remain in force till the celebration of Diwali festival is over. |
