PUBLICATION OF ELECTORAL ROLL IN DRAFT

The Electoral Rolls for the 23-Mairang-Nongkhlaw and 24-Pariong-Mawthadraishan District Council Constituencies have been prepared in accordance with the provision of the Rule 129 of Autonomous District Council (Constitution of District Council) Rules, 1951 and copies are available for inspection at the Electoral Registration Office during office hours till the 25.10.2016. If, with reference to the 1.1.2016, there by any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of names or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before the 25.10.2016. Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the Electoral Registration Office or sent by post not later than the aforesaid date.

AWARENESS WORKSHOP ON NSP 2.0 HELD

An awareness workshop on NSP 2.0 for all the Nodal Officers of the Institutes in the East Khasi Hills District was held on 18th October 2016 at Yojana Bhavan, Shillong, organized jointly by Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Meghalaya and National Informatics Centre, Meghalaya. The workshop was attended by around 130 Nodal Officers from different schools, colleges and universities in East Khasi Hills District. Those present included Ram Singh, I. A.S., Director of Higher & Technical Education, Meghalaya with other officers and staff of the Directorate along with State Informatics Officer, T Dkhar and officers and staff of National Informatics Centre, Meghalaya.

DISTRICT LEVEL DESIGN COMPETITION

As part of the observance of National Disaster Reduction Day, 2016 the District Disaster Management Authority, Ri Bhoi District will conduct a District Level Design Competition for logo of the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority on the 25th October, 2016 from 10:00 AM onwards at Science Hall, Nongpoh. The entries for the competition are invited from students who are currently enrolled in the Higher Secondary Class XI and XII to Degree level of all streams from the District. The top three winning participants will represent the District in the State Level Competition.
