Press Release No. 783/07 PUBLICATION OF DRAFT ELECTORAL ROLL The Electoral Registration Officers of 45-Tikrikilla (ST), 46-Dadenggre (ST), 47-Rongchugre (ST), 48-Phulbari, 49-Rajabala (ST), 50-Selsella (ST), 51-Rongram (ST), 52-Tura (ST), 54-Kherapara (ST), 55-Dalu (ST), 56-Dalamgre and 57-Rangsakona (ST) Assembly Constituencies has informed that the Photo Electoral Rolls of the said constituencies have been prepared in accordance with Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 and a copy is available for inspection at their office and at the concerned Polling Stations during office hours. The qualifying date for preparation of the Electoral Rolls is 01.01.2008. If, with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the photo electoral roll or any objections to the inclusion of names or any objections to particulars in any entries, it should be lodged between the period of 10-10-2007 to 25-10-2007 in Form 6, 7 or 8 as may be appropriate. Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the office of the concerned Electoral Registration Officer not later than the aforesaid date or to the Designated Officer in their respective polling station or sent by post to the Electoral Registration Officers of the concerned constituencies not later than 25.10.2007. |
Press Release No. 784/07 FELICITATION OF SSLC TOPPERS OF RI BHOI DISTRICT Meghalaya Minister for Education, Mr. R G Lyngdoh attended the felicitation ceremony of SSLC toppers of Ri Bhoi District, organized by the Khasi Students Union North Khasi Hills at Umdihar Auditorium on October 19, 2007. The felicitation ceremony witnessed the presence of teachers and students from different schools of the District. Congratulating all the awardees, Mr. Lyngdoh in his speech, urged upon them to work harder to achieve their desired goals. While adding that the students are likely to face many challenges in the future, he advised them not to be fazed by the challenges but to forge ahead with grit and determination. He also encouraged those students who did not receive the award to put their best effort in all their pursuits. Altogether 22 students from different schools who secured 1st Division in the SSLC Examination 2007 received cash awards, mementoes and certificates. |
Press Release No. 785/07 SUBMISSION OF FORMS AND FEES FOR SSLC EXAMINATION EXTENDED The Executive Chairman, Meghalaya Board of School Education, Camp Shillong has informed that the last date for submission of forms and fees in respect of Private Candidates appearing without Selection Test for the SSLC Examination, 2008, has been extended upto the 31st October, 2007. |
Press Release No. 786/07 ALL INDIA SAINIK SCHOOLS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (Written) for admission of boys to Classes VI and IX in Sainik Schools for 2008-2009 session will be held on January 6, 2008. For admission to Class VI, boys should be between the age group of 10-11 years as on 1st July, 2008 and for admission to Class IX, boys should be between 13-14 years of age as on 1st July, 2008. Prospectus and application forms are available on payment of Rs. 300/- in cash for general/defence category and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST category from the school office from 8.00 AM to 1.00 PM or by IPO/Bank Draft of Rs. 310/- and Rs. 240/- respectively drawn in favour of the Principal Sainik School Goalpara payable at SBI, Mornoi (Code 9148) if desired by post.
