22ND DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF CAPTAIN SANGMA OBSERVED

Shillong, 25 October 2012: The 22nd Death Anniversary of Captain Williamson A. Sangma was observed today at Captain Williamson Memorial Park, Baghmara in a befitting manner. Mr. Satto Marak local MLA was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Mr. S. Marak paid a great tribute to Lt. Captain Sangma and remembered his noble deeds and contribution towards the creation of Meghalaya Statehood. He also urged the people to follow his footsteps in building a better Garo Hills.

The programme was marked by the saluting parade of the police department of Baghmara and the patriotic song presented by the students of Captain. Williamson Memorial College, Baghmara. Others who were present and spoke on the occasion include Deputy Commissioner in charge Mr. D.D.Sangma, Mr. J.R.T Sangma, EAC and Mrs. Bulbuly Marak, Tourist Officer and others.

REPAIRING OF ROAD OVER UMIAM CONCRETE DAM

Shillong, 25th October, 2012: The Public Relations Officer of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited has informed that the road over Umiam concrete Dam is under repair, henceforth all arrangement to regulate the traffic that allowing movement from one side of the dam will continue for sometimes.

Inconvenience to the commuter is regretted.
