Press Release No. 487/10 H S LYNGDOH APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF MSDRC Shillong, October 27, 2010: In a notification issued, Mr. H S Lyngdoh, MLA has been appointed Chairman of the Meghalaya State Development Reforms Commission (MSDRC) under Category A+ with immediate effect from the date of joining and until further orders. This was informed by the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya. |
Press Release No. 488/10 STATE DEVELOPMENT REFORMS COMMISSION RECONSTITUTED Shillong, October 27, 2010: The State Development Reforms Commission has been reconstituted with the MLA to be nominated by the Chief Minister as Chairman, 5 Co-Chairman/Deputy Chairman/Vice Chairman which will consist of an Ex-Member of Parliament and Ex-Member of Legislative Assembly to be nominated by the Chief Minister, not more than 7 Non Official Members with known contribution in the field of development to be nominated by the Chairman, 3 Official Members which will consist of the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Commissioner & Secretary of Planning/Programme Implementation & Evaluation and Finance Department and one Member Secretary not below the rank of Under Secretary. The function of the Commission will be to examine the parameters of ongoing developmental programmes, from time to time, with a view to determine whether such programmes have been/are achieving the desired results. If not, to suggest suitable modifications thereof with a view to ensure their effectivity, to examine the need for undertaking new programmes for accelerated development of the rural areas with particular emphasis on poverty alleviation and to suggest working parameters thereof, from time to time. |
Press Release No. 489/10 STATE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED Shillong, October 27, 2010: The State Government Programme Implementation & Monitoring Committee constituted has been partially modified with the MLA to be nominated by the Chief Minister as Chairman, 4 Non Official Members which will consist of Member of Legislative Assembly/Ex-Member of Legislative Assembly to be nominated by the Chairman, 3 Official Members which will consist of the Chief Secretary/Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Commissioner and Secretary of Planning/Programme Implementation & Evaluation and Finance Departments and one Member Secretary not below the rank of Under Secretary. The function of the Committee will be to undertake field visits and to monitor implementation of programmes and schemes in the State and to suggest measures to improve effectiveness of implementation. The Committee will be serviced by the Programme Implementation & Evaluation Department. |
