Press Release No. 587/16 NATIONAL LOK ADALAT The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi will hold the National Lok Adalat for all relevant matters on the 12th November, 2016 in the High Court of Meghalaya, all District Courts, all District Council Courts and all Sub-Divisional Courts. Any person or party receiving the Lok Adalat Notice may appear personally before the Lok Adalat benches for settlement of their dispute amicably. This was informed by the Member Secretary, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong. |
Press Release No. 588/16 RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS AND RASHTRIYA SANKALP DIWAS OBSERVED A run for peace, unity and integrity organized at Nongstoin on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Rashtriya Sankalp Diwas was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, Shri S. Kharlyngdoh. About 100 people participated in the run for peace, unity and integrity including personnel from Meghalaya Police and Border Security Force (BSF). After the run, a workshop on National Unity and National Rededication Day was organized at Deputy Commissioner’s office. Later, the pledge was also taken by all district line departments, teachers college and school students led by the Deputy Commissioner at a formal gathering at TRYSEM Hall Deputy Commissioner’s office. |
Press Release No. 589/16 RICE RELEASED The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District has informed that AAY and NFSA (PHH) quota of rice for the month of October, 2016 has been released. AAY quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 35 kgs per AAY F.I Card at the rate of Rs.3/- per kg for both Rural and Town areas. PHH quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 5 kgs per head per month at the rate of Rs. 3/- per kg. |
Press Release No. 590/16 OBSERVATION OF NATIONAL DISASTER REDUCTION DAY IN SWKHD The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat observed the National Disaster Reduction Day on the 29th October, 2016 at the Multi-purpose hall DC’s office, Mawkyrwat on the theme “Preparedness can save precious lives”. The inaugural function was attended by the Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Smti. R Lyngdoh in the presence of senior government officials and students of the District.Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Smti. Lyngdoh informed the gathering that the National Disaster Reduction Day is being observed in the whole country to commemorate the devastating Super Cyclone that hit Orissa on 29th October, 1999, adding that the observation will also enhance awareness on the need for preparedness and to reduce the impact of natural and man made disasters. Others who spoke on the occasion included Extra Assistant Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District, Smti. S Ch Momin and Assistant District Project Officer, South West Khasi Hills District, Smti. D L Kharkongor. A short play on the theme “Preparedness can save precious lives” was performed by Iong Lajong Musical and Cultural Organization, Mawkyrwat. The highlights of the observation included Essay competition, drawing and painting, quiz competition which was held on the 28thOctober, 2016 and Logo Designing competition which was held on the 26th October, 2016 which was participated by school and college students of the various schools and colleges of the District. |
