DATE FIXED FOR 39-RONGJENG BYE-ELECTION

The Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Election Department Shillong has informed that the Bye Election for the 39-Rongjeng (ST) Assembly Constituency has been announced.

November 17, 2006 will be the last date for making nominations: November 18, 2006 has been fixed for the scrutiny of nomination: 20 November, 2006 for withdrawal of candidatures, December 4, 2006 for polling and December 9, 2006 for counting of votes.

The timing for poll will be from 7.00 AM to 4.00 PM.

MEETING OF THE REGIONAL TRANSPORT AUTHORITY BOARD NONGPOH

The Secretary, Regional Transport Authority, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that the meeting of the Regional Transport Authority Board, Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi District will be held on November 27, 2006 at 11 A. M. in the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, Regional Transport Board, Nongpoh for consideration of fresh applications of periodical permits renewal and transfer permits of all categories of Commercial Vehicles (Auto Rickshaw, Local Taxi, Bazar Bus (contract carriage), Line Bus, Mini Bus (Stage Carrier), Public and Private Carrier) within Nongpoh Region.

Applications forms are available from the office of the DTO and Secretary, RTA, Nongpoh on any working day. Applications affixed with Court fee stamps of Rs. 25/- only should reach the office of the DTO & Secretary, RTA on or before November 17, 2006. Non- Tribal applicants should enclose with photo the Trading Licence obtained from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council without which application will not be accepted. The applicants or the authorized representatives should appear before the meeting as scheduled above along with documents of the vehicles.
