LAITKOR MAWRIE COMBINED WATER SUPPLY SCHEME INAUGURATED

Shillong, 11th November 2011: Shri Shitlang Pale, Minister Public Health Engineering inaugurated the Laitkor Mawrie combined Water Supply Scheme today the 11th November 2011 at Nongrim, Laitkor Rngi amidst Shri Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, MLA, Officials from the PHE Department, local heads and many more.

Speaking in the occasion, Shri Shitlang Pale thank the PHE department, the local MLA, the local heads and the people of the area for making the Laitkor Mawrie combined Water Supply Scheme a success. He further expressed his appreciation to the people of the area for extending their support and cooperation in the implementation of the scheme. He also stated that water being the basic necessity of the people, the government is trying its level best to meet the needs of the public. He calls upon the locals of the area, the PHE Department to maintain and keep the water clean for the betterment of the people of the area.

Addressing the gathering as the guest of honour, Shri Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit highlighted the problems faced by the locals of the area with regards to water shortage and lauded the steps taken by the PHE Department under the lead of Shri Shitlang Pale, Minister Public Health Engineering. And most of all he thanked the land owners and the locals for extending their support and cooperation in implementing this much awaited scheme.

Other highlight of the programme also includes the reading and presentation of the Memorandum to the local MLA and the Minister concern.
