MEGHALAYA PAVILION INAUGURATED AT NEW DELHI

New Delhi, November 14, 2010: Meghalaya Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mr. A. T. Mondal inaugurated the Meghalaya Pavilion today the 14th November,2010 at Hall No 16, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in the presence of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, New Delhi, Mr. Pankaj Jain, Government Officials and entrepreneurs from Meghalaya Pavilion for participation in the India International Trade Fair-2010 organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation from 14th – 27th, November,2010 on the theme “Clean and Energy Efficient Technology, Products and Services”.

It may be mentioned that there are 9 Government Departments participating in this mega event namely Tourism, Agriculture, Horticulture, Commerce and Industries, Soil and Water Conservation, Mineral Resources Cooperative Societies, including DIPR as the nodal department. Others who participate in the Trade Fair includes MeECL, MNREDA, MKVIB, MHHDC, and 25 entrepreneurs / SHGs from different parts of the State.

The major items displayed in the Pavilion includes handicrafts, handlooms, Agricultural products, processed food, cane and bamboo products, aromatic spices, handwoven eri silk products and others.
