DRIVE AGAINST ILLICIT LIQOUR

Shillong, November 25, 2011: In its continued drive against illicit liquor, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts where during the month of October 2011, they detected 47 cases with a seizure of 124.250 litres of i/d liquor and 14.905 litres IMFL. In this connection, 47 persons were arrested under Excise Act.

Shillong, November 25, 2011: The Governor of Meghalaya is pleased to denotify the appointment of Mr. O.L. Nongtdu-Ex-MP, as the Co-Chairman of State Development Reforms Commission with immediate effect.
