CABINET ACCEPT TAX REFORM RELATING TO ELECTRICITY DUTY

Shillong, November 26, 2010: The Cabinet on Wednesday 25th November, 2010 accepted the Tax Reform relating to Electricity Duty and Approved the payment of Electricity Duty for the first 15,000 units at the rate of one paise per unit, for the next 25,000 units at the rate of one and half paise per unit and for the rest of the units at the rate of three paise per unit when such energy is exclusively consumed for industrial production. The rate reported in a Section of the Press is hereby corrected.
