COURSES IN NIFT SHILLONG CENTRE

Shillong, November 29, 2010: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), with the support of DONER, NEC and Government of Meghalaya, now in its third year, is currently offering two Graduate programmes, i.e., Fashion Design and Accessories Design Department. Opportunities are also being provided for young persons from Meghalaya by earmarking an additional seats equivalent to 20 percent intake for students domiciled in Meghalaya for the academic year 2011-2012. To avail this benefit aspiring students can apply in the prescribed form available at NIFT Centre, Shillong, during working hours between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM on any week day with effect from December 1, 2010 to January 5, 2011.

The last date for submission of application is January 10, 2011 and the entrance examination will be held on February 20, 2011.

DRAFT TOURISM POLICY

Shillong, November 29, 2010: The Government of Meghalaya, Directorate of Tourism has incorporated the Draft Tourism Policy in the Meghalaya Tourism website www.megtourism.gov.in. This was informed by the Director of Tourism, Meghalaya, Shillong.

The public can send their views and comments on the Policy to the Department within fifteen days.
