E-MUNICIPAL SERVICES LAUNCHED

Eight e-Municipal Services of the Urban Affairs Department were today launched by the Urban Affairs Minister, Shri. S. Dhar in a function held at Yojana Bhavan, Main Secretariat, Shillong. The programe was attended by senior officers of the Urban Affairs Department, Shillong Municipal Board, Housing Department and NIC, Shillong.

The services include Water Connection for the Municipal Areas, Business License issued by Municipal Board, Property Tax Payment under Municipal Board, Application Form for CessPool, Application for Fresh Registration of Plumbing License under Urban Local Bodies, Application for obtaining Birth and Death Certificate.

The online services have been developed by the National Informatics Centre, Meghalaya under the funding by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. These online services were developed using the Service Plus Application of NIC, Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. S Dhar lauded the Department for launching the e-services which will go a long way in improving services delivery to the people. Stating that with the new initiative people will no longer need to physically come to the office for some of their work, he stressed on the need for good coordination between all stakeholders for the system to function efficiently.

Officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, NIC, New Delhi also participated in the programme virtually.
