Press Release No. 164/24 FOUNDATION FOR RE-DEVELOPMENT OF IAWMUSIANG, ROADS AND ANNEX BUILDING OF CIRCUIT HOUSE LAID Deputy Chief Minister and incharge Urban Affair, Transport Department etc Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar on Friday laid Foundation Stone for Re-Development of Iawmusiang Market Complex. The Iawmusiang Market Complex under Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council is being redeveloped as part of the Re-Development of Iawmusiang Complex Market project. During his address, Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar informed the gathering that the re-development was initiated after a detailed re-estimate following the tendering process fixed at a total cost of 25.6 crore. He added that this redevelopment aims to enhance the functionality of the complex while benefiting the public. He also announced that the contract for this project has been undertaken by Shri Pyrkhat Hinge with a target to complete the construction work within 24 months. Shri. Sniawbhalang Dhar also inaugurated the project for construction, improvement and up-gradation of roads at Ialong, Jowai, Madur Thymme, Niriang and Mukhla, a total distance of 38.163 km, with an estimated budget of 50 crore. He also laid foundation stone for the Annex Building Circuit House Jowai as part of the development initiative. Present was the Local MLA and Chairman MUDA Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla, CEM JHADC Shri. Press Release No. 165/24 MEGHALAYA BHARAT SCOUTS AND GUIDES, SOUTHWEST GARO HILLS, CONCLUDES ANNUAL GET-TOGETHER PROGRAMME The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides, Southwest Garo Hills, successfully conducted its Annual Get-Together Programme from December 12th to 14th, 2024, at Boldamgre Government Upper Primary School campus, under Zikzak C&RD Block, Southwest Garo Hills. With the theme "Our Thriving Future," the event brought together over 135 participants, including 35 Scouts, 70 Guides, 10 Rovers, 12 Rangers, and 8 staff members. The program featured Sanjay A. Sangma, MLA of the 54-Mahendraganj Constituency, as the Chief Guest on the second day. Addressing the gathering, the MLA praised the efforts of the Scouts and Guides in shaping disciplined and responsible citizens, emphasizing the importance of youth-led initiatives in building a brighter future. The three-day program featured an array of engaging activities and competitions designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and cultural appreciation. Key events included a Cooking Without Utensils competition, a Quiz competition, Cultural Song and Dance performances, and Drawing and Painting competitions. These activities were skillfully coordinated under the leadership of District Secretary of Scouts and Guides, Pular D. Shira and District Organising Commissioner of Scouts and Guides, Southwest Garo Hills Debarson A. Sangma. A cultural highlight of the closing night was a mesmerizing performance by local artist Silberth Abrio Sangma, which added to the spirit of celebration. The event concluded with Chief Guest Sanjay A. Sangma, awarding prizes to the winners of the various competitions, encouraging the young participants to strive for excellence and contribute to a thriving future. The annual get-together program reflects the core mission of the Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides to inspire young minds, promote leadership, and foster a sense of unity among the youth. |
Press Release No. 166/24 THE MEGHALAYA STATE LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY ORGANISED THE NATIONAL LOK ADALAT The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, under the patronage and guidance of the Hon’ble Mr. Justice I. P. Mukerji, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and supervision of Hon’ble Mr. Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, has organised the National Lok Adalat on the 14th of September 2024 in all the districts of the State of Meghalaya, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). In the National Lok Adalat, 517 Pre-Litigation cases and 351 pending cases were taken up for settlement. Total number of cases taken up was 868, of which 159 cases were settled for a total amount of INR 1,43,22,263/- (Rupees One crore forty-three lakhs twenty-two thousand two hundred and sixty-three) only. |
