Press Release No. 854/05 GHLF MEET CHIEF MINISTER A delegation of the Garo Hills Legislators Forum (GHLF) led by the Chairman, Mr. B G Momin submitted a memorandum to the Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr. D D Lapang at his official residence on December 22, 2005 The GHLF, in its memorandum, requested the Chief Minister to facilitate repairing of the Rongrengre Higher Secondary School which was damaged during the September 30, 2005 firing incidents in East Garo Hills District and demanded that the medical bills of the patients injured be paid at the earliest by the Government and to facilitate further medical treatment to some of the injured patients The GHLF has further demanded from the Government to ask for specific information on the alleged anomalies in the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) from the concerned NGOs. It has also insisted upon the Government to ensure proper maintenance of the existing Roads and National Highways and to provide better and more road connectivity in all the Districts of Garo Hills Further, the Forum has urged upon the Government to provide stable and adequate power supply to all villages in Garo Hills and also to expedite the survey works and preparation of the Detail Project Report for the proposed new power projects in Garo Hills. |
Press Release No. 856/05 HOLIDAY ON 28TH AND 29TH DECEMBER, 2005 The Government of Meghalaya has declared 28th and 29th December, 2005 as compensatory holidays in all offices and all revenue and magisterial courts in the whole State. However, in compensation, all such offices and court will remain open on 14th and 28th January, 2006.
